Don’t compare your employer’s approach to work location, to your neighbor’s employer’s approach. Trust that your employer is doing their best for you; they are intent on protecting your health and your company’s sustainability. Understand that your company’s goal to remain competitive ensures your continued employment.
Let’s adjust our mindset. We now will be a workforce that resembles a luxury vehicle or high fashion- customized. We may be asked to return to the office, given the option to work from home, or we may be required to work a hybrid schedule.
A slow march back to the office began in late June or will start in September. Employers are paying attention during this re-boarding process and making efforts to blend flexibility and career equity in their creation of employee schedules.
Flexibility is the new goal. Although the high engagement scores and record business performance of the past year have proven to employers that being in the office is not the quantifier, certain industries like manufacturing, require a return to the workplace.
It’s a new frontier in organization culture. If we keep asking what works best and keep listening closely to each other’s responses, we can create a better, more effective structure.
